Keller & Faber is a web design and development studio founded in Berkeley, California. We build websites that make complex ideas simple, usable, and persuasive.
Our work reflects the personal scale of the studio. Our two partners, Josh Keller and David Faber, have complementary backgrounds that allow us to find original solutions to the multidisciplinary problems posed by the internet. Josh, a writer and graphic designer by trade, is driven by backgrounds in typography, data graphics, and political journalism. David, the lead programmer, has studied the pleasantly overlapping topics of computers, music and brains at UC Berkeley. Our collaboration ensures that the visual and technical aspects of each project reinforce a common goal.
The small size of our studio also allows us to build the kinds of close, open relationships with our clients that pay off in productive, mutually beneficial work. We know what it takes to build a successful website, and we work hard to help our clients determine and clarify a strong strategic vision for their web business. The resulting websites are expertly planned and intensely focused on the user experience, helping persuade their audiences through clarity, relevance, and charm.
Our extensive backgrounds allow us to tackle the technical challenges of the internet. All of our work is built using standards-compliant XHTML and CSS for layout. Through the use of Ajax and Flash, we excel at creating modern, dynamic user interfaces that provide meaningful feedback and the feel of a desktop application. Using a variety of languages, including Ruby, PHP, ActionScript and Javascript, and our preferred framework, Rails, we can quickly deploy data-driven web applications with custom content management systems for any business domain.
